We had a respectable five winners on top (Aqueduct, $5.10; Gulfstream, $5.40, 5.60; Turfway, $3.00; Oaklawn, $9.00). That produced a small profit in that category.
However, the big action came in the gimmicks. A tri box in the Gotham ($287.50/$2) -- we also had the exacta box in that race though we didn't play it on the page ($93.50/$2). Cold exacta ($9.10/$2) and tri ($25.60/$2) in the Cicada. Cold exactas in both Gulfstream stakes ($9.60/$2, $22.60/$2). Boxed exacta and tri in the Queen (ex, $37.80/$2; tri $83.00/$2). In the Rebel a cold exacta ($30.60/$2) with our fourth pick completing the tri ($104.00/$2).
But the best ticket of the day came in the Rushaway at Turfway where one of our value picks underneath pulled off the upset at 38-1. Brass Hat, our fourth pick, was a maiden before Saturday's win, having started in a $15K maiden claimer two back and followed-up with a MSW try. Coming in just behind that one were our top choice, third pick, and second choice. We collected on the $328.00/$2 exacta and $1451.60/$2 triple. Though we didn't play it on the page, our four picks combined for the $2256.00/$2 super.
Overall an excellent way to kick off the Spring season!

...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $143.75 on the tri box ($287.50/$2).
Redskin Warrior...Came back from layoff to win Best Turn decisively and trainer is low-percentage off the bench -- so this guy is a good one in the making for sure.
Saratoga County...Look at those comment lines and you know this hard-luck -- but talented -- colt can fire a big, big shot with a clean trip. Scratched from last week's Swale at Gulfstream for this.
Eddington...The "now" horse off his early season races in Florida. Could be this good but we'll see today in stakes debut.
Pomeroy.

...$1 tri key Among My Souvenirs over other three.
Scratched.
Bohemian Lady...Pletcher filly faltered as the fave last time in stakes debut for first career defeat. Let's look for a bounce back to winning form with that experience under her belt.
Among My Souvenirs...Beat top pick in that stake last time to stay undefeated. Clearly the one to beat.
Whoopi Cat...Looked like a top 2YO filly last summer at Saratoga. Not as impressive in two 3YO starts. Maybe return to east coast will help.
Baldomera.

Ebony Breeze...Solid stakes-level performer for Mott/Steinbrenner. Layoff is a concern.
Glorious Miss...Another that seems to be showing improvement this season.
Saratoga Humor.
