Our wagering was canceled in a couple of events with one being knocked off the grass and the other seeing our top pick scratched from a short field. So we wound up with an impressive five winners on top in nine races (Calder, $7.20; Lone Star, $2.60; Hollywood, $15.00, 6.60; Bay Meadows, $3.80). That translates to a 95% ROI on straight win bets.
We also scrounged together some nice gimmicks on the day. At the top of that list is the $147.20/$2 cold tri at Hollywood -- that included a $36.40/$2 cold exacta. Our top three also combined for a $153.60/$2 tri in another Hollywood race. Boxes with our top four picks grabbed a couple more tri's on the day as well as three exactas.
But we were frustrated in a few of the races that might've changed our profits completely. At Calder we had the winner but couldn't get anything underneath. Same at Lone Star. And at Hollywood we had the 6-1 winner in one of the stakes but two of our others taunted us by running third and fourth at 12-1 and 1-1. Even if only the 12-1 gets up and completes our exacta it would changed our day significantly.
Well, a fun day anyway...

Peeping Tom 5-2
Wager: $5 WP on Peeping Tom.
Ran 3rd.
...$4 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-3.
...$1 tri key Peeping Tom over next three.
Ran 3/1-2-4.
Peeping Tom...Back in action only a week after running a decent fourth despite traffic on Derby undercard. If able to maintain Beyer-number consistency that should be enough to handle these.
Here's Zealous...Making third start off a long layoff and might be primed for a good one.
Well Fancied...Usually in the hunt for a piece.
Shake You Down.
House Party 2-1
Cyber Secret 3-5
City Sister 6-1
Randaroo scratched.
Wager: $5 W on Randaroo.
Canceled.
$5 exacta box top two.
Canceled.
Randaroo...Faltered last time to just get nipped for first defeat in four tries. Nice 104 Beyer last fall seems to indicate plenty of potential and it could be ready to sprout third try off the layoff.
Cyber Secret...Beat Storm Flag Flying last time and that's not too shabby.
House Party...Jerkens filly ran a lights out 106 Beyer last time and if that was an indication of her current form and not just a freaky run in the slop she'll be tough today.
Love That Game 5-2
Honorable Pic 12-1
Cellars Merlot 20-1
Wager: $5 WP on Love That Game.

Ran 1-6-7-9.
Love That Game...Looks like there should be enough speed in here to set this one up for a nice stretch drive.
Simmer...Seems in pretty good form lately.
Rakoon...If any of the speed has a chance to make their presence felt it might be this one.
Broadway Snowman.
City Fire 9-2
Impolite 9-2
Apple Juice 3-1
Off turf, Gal O Gal, Seattle Tac, One And Twenty scratched.
Off turf. Wagers canceled.
Wager: $5 WP on Gal O Gal.

...$1 tri box top four.
Gal O Gal...Hard to look past if able to maintain form shown in Florida. Drops back to favored distance.
Impolite...Stands a chance of sneaking away on the front end.
Seattle Tac...Seems to have taken to the turf.
One And Twenty.
Posse 6-5

Ran 1-3-4-7.
Coach Jimi Lee...Loves the trip and seems to be improving.
Posse...Coming off a nice stakes win at Keeneland. A repeat of that effort will make him tough to beat.
Cat Genius...Toss out the two route tries and this one is undefeated in sprints -- all by daylight.
Elusive Hour.

Collected $12.70 on the ex box ($25.40/$2).
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $38.20 on the tri box ($76.40/$2).
Bonus Pack...Overmatched in last two but looks ready to return to 100+ Beyer range which should get it done against these.
Fight For Ally...Might be a little question mark with the distance -- but comes in here riding a five-race streak which can't be ignored.
Woodmoon...Been pretty competitive this year and trainer is always dangerous shipping into these ungraded stakes.
Full Mandate.
Dynever 1-5
Most Feared 18-1
Commander's Affair 44-1
Wager: $5 WP on Dynever.
Dynever...There are some questions marks. This lightly raced 3YO has only raced over the Gulfstream strip -- but those last two were dynamite. Could be a star in the division by late summer -- but must pass this test first.
Hombre Rapido 6-1
Wager: $5 WP on Hombre Rapido.
Hombre Rapido...He's tough when he has his running shoes on and AM works seem to indicate readiness.
Storming Home 5-2
Wager: $5 WP on Ballingarry.
Ballingarry...Big win in Canadian International last fall seemed to indicate this one could be a grass star. Not as impressive in last two since moving to DeSeroux barn -- but one of those was the BC Turf and last was off the layoff. Let's give one more chance today.
Total Impact 2-1
Wager: $5 WP on Total Impact.
Total Impact...Looks to be improving into a good one.
Just Wonder 4-5

Ran 1/7-8-10.
Grendel...No doubt this is a little bit of a stretch but just have a feeling this one is sitting on a nice effort.
Crowned Dancer...Ran out of the money for first time in Blue Grass but had an excuse there. Look for an improved effort today.

Ran 1-3-4/5 (entry) - 8.
Men's Exclusive...Solid win last time at the trip -- but it's hard to know how consistent you can expect them to be at 10YO.
Giovannetti...Seldom misses the exacta.

Collected $76.80 on the tri box ($153.60/$2).
Denon...Frankel/Bailey turfer would probably deserve top pick status except for the layoff.
Storming Home...Pretty solid season in Britain last year. Also coming of a layoff however.
The Tin Man.

Fleetstreet Dancer...Also seems to be improving nicely. Was a length behind top pick in latest.
Piensa Sonada...Finished just behind the top two last time. Prior few efforts were consistent -- and were mostly against better.
