This year’s inductees are jockey Calvin Borel; industry leaders August Belmont II and Paul Mellon; and thoroughbreds Housebuster, Invasor, Lure, McDynamo and Tuscalee. The ceremony will be held at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Saratoga 150 Horse Name Announcement: Friday marks the day that the winning name in the “Name the Saratoga 150 Horse” contest will be announced. Designed and painted by internationally-known equine artist Robert Clark, the three-dimensional fiberglass horse features approximately 100 hand-painted images which provide an illustrative history of Saratoga Race Course over the past 150 years. The art piece is on display for the public immediately inside the Clubhouse gates across from The Post. The winning name was chosen in a public vote on timesunion.com. The individual who submits the winning name will receive lunch for two at Saratoga Race Course, plus will be recognized on the video boards and will receive a front side tour of the track.
