No racing. Dark day.
FIRST RACE
They're all firsters and plenty in here have both nature and nuture punch - tough race.
War Hawk...Earns a slight nod based on good first-out numbers for sire and trainer. Dam is a little more of a question mark.
Mack Miller...Might kick ourselves for not rating this one on top - after all, it is a Pletcher 2YO at Saratoga. More good early-win numbers for sire and trainer - plus, this one is a sib to Electrify, a stakes winner that won its first three, Rothko, a stakes winner that was 2nd, then 6th, then won in its third career start, and Kinsey that won its second start.
More Than Classic...Sire good with first-time starters. Trainer even better. Dam's first foal.
Little Boss.
Otoy.
Dirt: Same plus Flying Joe.
SECOND RACE - $100K Claramount
Marriedtothemusic...Last two were eye-poppingly good. ested today.
Bond Vigilante...9-5 ML fave has also strung together two wins. Trainer getting hot.
Longfor the City...And yet another riding a two-race win-streak. Will have to step it up a little here - but that's not out of the question.
Chapman.
THIRD RACE
Strange race with a few likely contenders showing more turf form. Hmmm...
Hooked Again...Rolling the dice a little - number fired in debut fits here and might get a wake-up on the class drop and move to dirt. But again - taking a shot in a field where nothing really jumps off the page.
Ampa's Girl...Numbers fit - but again, they're on the turf. OK try in off-turf race on this track last year.
Mononoke...Probably the best dirt form - except for the inexplicable dud two back.
Scienziato.
FOURTH RACE
Bemata...Certainly the last is a head-scratcher -- but tossed in a dud in the midst of a win-streak at Oaklawn earlier this year - so a rebound isn't out of the question and the class-relief makes him very interesting here at 6-1 on the ML.
Vee's Accolade...First off the claim for Rudy.
Favorite Uncle...First off the claim for Maker/Ramsey. Probably has to step it up a little but that's not out of the question with these crafty claiming connections.
Drum Roll.
Flying Bird.
FIFTH RACE $100KK Cab Calloway NYSS
West Hills Giant...Easily won a similar race at BEL in June.
Captain Gaughen...Seems an improved 3YO and was second to top pick in that June race.
Old Pal of Mine...Interesting - La-bred in a NY Stallion stakes. Also seems to be improved this season.
Orino.
Dirt: Escapefromreality, West Hills Giant, Belief System, Madam I'm Adam.
SIXTH RACE
Ivy Chain...With Speightstown on top this on should be primed to win sooner rather than later. Class drop and turf might help. Sib Atlantic Tap won second career start April 2012 on the synthetic at KEE.
Blue Ballerina...Consistent numbers that seems to fit with these.
So Royal...Might actually be the one to beat if we can believe that last Beyer.
Wedding Lass.
Dirt: Same plus Malibu Mudsllide, Pan Dulce, Ireatinelexburance.
SEVENTH RACE
Temper in Command...Moved from BEL to as good win up here last season - could be primed to repeat that pattern.
Roses for Romney...The one to catch?
Sally's Dream...Last could indicate good form now.
Ornellia.
Dirt: Princess Mara, Sally's Dream, Color Blind, Downtown Hottie, Ma Jong Madness.
EIGHTH RACE
Thinking of Girls...OK third on the move to SoCal and finds some additional class relief today.
Poised to a Tee...Drops back to price of last win.
Taproot...Last was pretty good - maybe it took a few starts for Servis to figure him out.
Assured Victory.
NINTH RACE
Notmyfirsttime...Talented Asmussen sprinter should transfer to grass with Scat Daddy on top.
Console...First two were promising - last two not so much. Hmm...
Perregaux...Ran well going dirt-to-turf off of a couple month layoff earlier this year. Again?
Palace.
Dirt: NFs Destiny plus same as above.
TENTH RACE
Won'tualwayswonder...Class relief for Maker/Ramsey runner.
Code Z...Also taking a drop.
Shortcoming...OK third vs similar last time.
Professor Chaos.
Dirt: Same plus Sunnyinseabrook, Like a Boss, Brandy's Big Guy.
