Yesterday...

Got a little bit lucky and saved ourselves from a mental meltdown...

As noted yesterday, we were hitchin' our wagon to the Sheppard Special in R9, Angel Terrace. That one was 12-1 ML but drifted down to 6-1 by post time -- but we still would have taken the $806/$2 P3 we were alive to -- and whatever we might have collected on the P4 [which would have been somewhat more than the $825.00/$2 it paid]. Instead Angel Terrace was impeded in the stretch - not sure it cost us the win - but we would have liked to have been able to find out with a clean trip -- however, it did seem to cost us the bottom half of the exacta.

However - in a bold move we really debated - we included the eventual winner Qushchi on the ticket - which allowed us to make an OK - not great, but OK - profit on a day when we took a swing.

Had we not included Qushchi there would have been a mental meltdown because with two of our top three selections combining for exacts in six of the ten races - heck, we could have done almost anything else on Monday and made some money.

All's well that ends well.

RACE TEN... $1 exacta box... Sally's Dream/Sheza Heartbreaker/Lady's Lunar Luck/Ramsey entry/Pagan Priestess.
Ran WON-4-5 [scr Sally's Dream/Pagan Priestess/Broken Trust Fund.
