2-11. Ooooff - tough day. Winners in the 4th [6.30] and 10th [7.30]. Had some gimmicks that took some of the sting out - but it felt like a struggle all afternoon. [R1 ... CBx x 49.60; R4 ... Ab-Bc-x x 20.80; R5 ... BDC x 57.50 t 168.00; R10 ... ADx x 50.00]
Crowd reported at 47132 - but of course that number was spinner-inflated on T-shirt giveaway day. There was a steady drizzle for much of the afternoon - although the sun peeked out occasionally towards the end of the card.
Saratoga Trading Card Set: Monday marks the debut of a new collectible item for the 2013 meet - the “History of the Game” Saratoga Trading Cards. The first set of the limited edition collectible cards will be available for $2 each in the Grandstand near the Saratoga Styles Gift Shop.
Sports journalist Mike Kane and National Museum of Racing historian Allan Carter will give a presentation based on their new book titled "150 Years of Racing in Saratoga: Little Known Stories and Facts from America's Most Historic City" during a public lecture at the Saratoga Springs Public Library at 7:30 p.m. A book signing will follow their presentation.
