Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1200 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

3-11. Winners in the 1st [3.30], 4th [6.10], and 7th [4.60]. Friday we were disappointed when our Sheppard play just got caught at the wire to run 2nd at 7-1. Saturday the disappointment was our 5-1 "A" top pick in R2, Stroll to Victory, who finally got in gear very late and just missed catching the winner.

Other gimmicks on the day: R6 ... BAx x 39.00; R7 ... ABC x 58.00 t 230.50; R8 ... BAx x 56.50.

25375 attended. A solid crowd turned out now that the weather has turned. The heat and humidity of the first few days has given way to sun and comfortable temps.

The crowd was treated to a solid day of racing with two G1s and a salty edition of the G2 Jim Dandy which might have crowned a pro-tem leader of the 3YO division in Palace Malice. Another highlight was the win in R4 by John Velazquez - appropriately for Todd Pletcher, the victory was a record-breaker for the jockey, pushing him past Jerry Bailey as the all-time leading rider at Saratoga.

Today

Saratoga T-Shirt Giveaway: Saratoga Race Course patrons can pick up the first giveaway of the season: a free Saratoga short sleeve t-shirt, with paid admission, while supplies last.

Granny Mc's Kitten...Sib Kitten's Dumplings won career debut here last year going two turns on grass.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
