Additionally, NYRA will pay tribute to its employees who are on active duty or who have served in the US military with a special ceremony in the winner's circle during the National Anthem at 11:30am.
RACE ONE
Credit Call...In a wide-open race I'll roll the dice with this one. Lukas has won some big races over the years having the jock send from the get-go. This one will need to improve big-time but adds blinkers and might ake them all the way in a field that seems devoid of speed - if able to employ that strategy.
Thane...Expensive yearling purchase ran an OK debut and will take action based on the connections.
Western Sadler...Improved when stretched last time - but was it the trip, or the grass?
Taken by Storm.
RACE TWO
Summer Revival...Claimed by the crafty Paul Pompa. By win-early sire Pure Prize. Sib Jabali took three to win - and was trounced in the first two. But they were on the synthetic at Woodbine - surprised at 37-1 when moved to dirt.
Stick with Skip...Nature and nuture at work with win-early sire and trainer that can have them ready.
Smoke Town...Will be dangerous dropping from MSW for R Dutrow.
Scofield.
Brother Bob.
RACE THREE $100K David
Awesome Weekend...Probably has to step it up a little - but bullet work says that's possible.
Weekend Hideaway...Clearly the one to beat off of the maiden-breaker - but was that slop-aided?
Mr Rodriguez...Another coming in with a solid bullet work in the holster.
Cay to Pomeroy.
RACE FOUR
North Freeway...Iffy pick off of the last two - but would seem to have a slight class-edge if able to recapture best form and cutback and 8/16 work say that might be possible. We'll see...
Promise Me a Cat...Ran well in a similar race two back. Has fired two bullets in prep for this.
Bessie M...Hits the board more often than not.
Xunlei.
RACE FIVE
Winning Cause...Wow. Take your pick. Don't know if there's anyone in here that would surprise me. We'll land here after seeing him lose as our top pick last time. But it is Pletcher and improvement isn't out of the question. Worked 10.1 before 2YO sale.
Asunder...AE. Solid debut.
Brickyard Kitten...AE. Trainer and sire good with firsters. Dam's first.
Summer Shiner...In front of top pick last time.
Ride l'Ultimo.
Fredericksburg.
RACE SIX $100K Win
Beau Choix...Looking at his PPs he often seems to string a couple of good ones together. We'll see...
Right One...Might find this company a good fit.
Paris Vegas...Hard to ignore the lifetime best Beyer last time.
Swift Warrior.
RACE SEVEN
Hedonemewrongsong...We'll take a shot on Sheppard and some win-early breeding.
Zadina...Looks live off of the debut.
Ramsey entry...The Kitten's all look capable.
Coarsegold.
Ruthie Blue Eyes.
RACE EIGHT $100K PG Johnson
Da Mi Basia Mille...Probably will need to step it up a little but impressed in debut.
Tara From the Cape...Already a stakes winner.
Top Tier Lass...Will take action off of the debut and connections - and deservedly so.
Watsdachances.
RACE NINE
Gimme Credit...Could be primed to pop off of the improving Beyers.
Short Shrift...Nice try off the layoff last time.
Dugan...Will need to step it up but that's not out of the question.
Pervis.
RACE TEN
Vicola...Might benefit from the first-out education. Indian Charlie on top means winning sooner rather than later is likely.
Accent...Won't be shocked to see some improvement now that Asmussen has had him for a while.
Comment...Dropped last time - but race was shifted to dirt. Back on turf for first time at reduced level.
Lizzie Bear.
