3-10. Winners in the 1st [$6.90], 9th [$7.50] and 10th [$10.60]. Cold exacta in the 9th [$27.20/$2]. Top two in reverse order for the exacta in the 3rd [$15.80/$2].
Lots of elbow room as a somewhat sparse Saturday crowd of 22,091 attended. The number was probably affected by the heat and humidity - which seemed to be up a notch from Friday. Some folks probably opened the backdoor - felt the sauna-like heat and decided there are still 38 more days.
Later on however the neighboring post-track watering holes hosted good crowds. And the NBC team of Tom Hammond, Mike Battaglia and Kenny Rice were seen enjoying themselves in the backyard at Siro's.
The warm night brought out a big crowd for Day Two if the Hat's Off Music Festival downtown.
