Don't forget to check out the Challenge page where we started the month with a mythical $1000 bankroll and attempt to increase that amount as the Saratoga season continues.

Yesterday

4-11. Winners in the 3rd [$4.20], 5th [$3.30], 6th [$18.80], and 7th [$2.70]. Also, cold exacta in the 7th [$8.70/$2]. Cold P3 in R5-7 [$57.00]. In the 10th a B-C-A finish for the exacta [$51.50] and tri [$164.00]. And in the 11th a C-A exacta [$27.80].

Attendance was reported to be 58,872 - but, of course, that was inflated by 'spinners' chasing the T-shirt giveaway. However, there was legitimately a pretty good crowd on hand. Weather was a mix of clouds and sun and a sweater was probably a good idea.

Today

Free admission.

FIRST RACE
Silent Stalk...High-percentage Pa-based trainer ships in and this one has some early foot.
Hangingonaprayer...Seems like a good fit at this level.
Healthy Debate...The puzzler in the mix. Claimed out of a winning effort here last Thursday. Tries turf for the first time. Hmmm.
Honorable Truth.
Fiona Freud.

SECOND RACE
Johannesburg Smile...Comes out of a couple of state-bred stakes. Ran second at this level in May.
Good Prospect...Third start back and first two were good.
Quick to Charm...Been lightly-raced the past couple of seasons but is riding a 4-race win-streak.
Strong Commitment.

THIRD RACE
Song of Broadway...looks to tower over a weak field.
Lady Alma...Has shown some life in the claiming ranks.
Shuttle Craft...Doesn't have to be much to contend with these.
Sister Berta.

FOURTH RACE - Frank Sullivan $70K
Awakino Cat...Won a similar small stake here on 8/18.
True to Tradition...Gets a piece more often than not.
Affirmatif...Pletcher trainee is lightly-raced this year but capable on best effort.
Yield Bogey.
African King.

FIFTH RACE
Aruna...Last ran in a G1 in France - could be well-spotted here.
picture Hat...Another Euro-transplant. Might find this trip more to his liking than the last.
Crazy Catlady...Second start back and occasionally shows a nice closing kick.
River Forest.

SIXTH RACE
Perregaux...Well-bred runner should benefit from the first-out experience.
Pervis...Has some win-early breeding.
Willy Pay...got into contention late and faded last time - but might go better today with that one under his belt.
Rogue Romance.
Dixon Lane.

SEVENTH RACE
Centring...Eye-poppingly nice breeding.
Malibu Spice...Malibu Moon runners are usually ready to go and barn has been hot the last week.
Niji's Grand Girl...Wouldn't be a shock to see her go well in the second start.
Cash for Clunkers.

EIGHTH RACE
Australis Princess...A repeat of the wire job last time is certainly possible on this course.
Gitchie Goomie...Could be interesting coming off of the two sprints.
Tutti Va Bene...Seems in good form now.
Frivolous Buck.

NINTH RACE - Hopeful G1 $250K
Wine Police...We'll take a little bit of a wise-guy shot - Boys At Tosconova is certainly the one to beat, but this guy was impressive in the debut and benefits from experience on this track.
Boys At Tosconova...Maiden-breaker was impressive and trainer has been raving the whole meet about this guy.
Stay Thirsty...A $500K purchase earlier this year - and showed the potential to live up to the price with the convincing win last time.
Nacho Saint.

TENTH RACE - Glens Falls Hcp G3 $100K
Forever Together...2008 Eclipse champ looks to be shopping for a confidence builder after a couple of narrow G1 defeats.
Keertana...Always in the hunt.
Casablanca Smile...Has run well in both US starts.
Striking Dancer.

ELEVENTH RACE
Shadow Wood...Well-bred. Should be ready to fire and meet leading trainer and jock would probably be happy to be in the winner's circle for the final Saratoga race of 2010.
Voodoo Storm...Should go well with one in the holster.
Mister Pippit...Wouldn't be a shock if he was live in first start.
East Indies.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
