Yesterday

Dark day. No racing.

Today

FIRST RACE
Arena Elvira...A couple of nice second-place finishes - now stretches out after two sprints.
Remark...Darley runner has shown flashes and would be no surprise - but is making start #7 without a win.
Super Espresso...Moves into the Pletcher barn for celeb chef Bobby Flay.
Click Your Heels.

SECOND RACE
Riona...We'll take a shot here. Sire is showing some good signs early on. Dam was precocious herself. And this one worked a good 10.4 before 2YO sale.
Status Pending... Sure to take some action because of the connections - but always a risky play when a $200K purchase debuts for a $35K tag.
Cheeky Mama...Showed good speed in debut and wouldn't be a shocker if she held on longer today.
Ten Till Mid Nite.

THIRD RACE
Yawkey Way...Solid debut win over this track in July.
Readygetsgold...Debut win was against the boys. Last time was vs open company in Delaware. Could be dangerous first-time facing NY -bred fillies.
Watkins Glen...Should benefit from the first-start education.
Rosa Salvaje.

FOURTH RACE
Pervis...Bred precociously and trainer can have them ready. A good combo of stats.
Love That Dude...A dud in debut - but expect better this time.
Santao Gato...Another with some win-early breeding.
Peb Hughes.
Iwannaiwannaiwanna.
On dirt: Same.

FIFTH RACE
Tidal Slam...Well-beaten favorite at this level last time. Claimed and goes today for Rice. The on to beat if able to rebound.
Millenium Jet...Also needs to rebound to prior form - but will contend if able to do that.
Tiger Willie...And still one more that tossed in something of a clunker last time but has shown better in the past.
Doast.
On dirt: Smooth Transition, Doast, Tidal Slam, Slamm'n Lou, Millenium Jet.

SIXTH RACE
Drink of the Day...Hmm, both the sire and trainer aren't necessarily known for debut winners - BUT, this one worked a quick 10.1 before the 2YO sale and has fired two bullets leading into this. Works lead us to believe he's primed to go. We'll know more after the race of course.
Orangeblackandgold...Got some good education in the first start and trainer is 23% second time out of the box.
Silent Joy...Connections and breeding similar to Santo Gato in Race 4. That one's effort might give a clue here.
Blueveau.
High Velocity.
On dirt: Drink of the Day, Indian Lilly, Five Mach Speed, Deja Blu, Silent Joy, High Velocity.

SEVENTH RACE
Pulpit Point...Landed here after a long look at this race. Beaten favorite here almost three weeks ago in the first start in a year. Should benefit from that one and might have been up against the course profile and pace that day.
Pleasant Strike...Stakes winner from the Pletcher barn is clearly capable in here.
Dubai Rainbow...OK third in speedy G3 Jaipur last time and did it with a come-from-behind kick that isn't his style. Could prove to be the one to catch in here.
Followmyfootsteps.
On dirt: Dubai Rainbow, Brother Nick, Seniors Pride, A Diehl, No Inflation, Pulpit Point, Veiled Prophet.

EIGHTH RACE - Albany $100K
Ibboyee...Solid vs open stakes company - he flopped a little as the even-money fave against state-breds two back, but rebounded in the NY Derby last time. Looks best of this bunch.
Stormy's Majesty...Ambitiously-placed last time. Should appreciate the return to NY-bred company.
Johannesburg Smile...Early speed in a relatively small field is dangerous.
Mineswept.

NINTH RACE
Excited...Breeding and connections say this one would be no surprise in her first start.
Mayday Maria...AE list. Barnmate of top pick just missed in debut.
Miss Alabama...Bred to go well early - but trainer's not known to fire first-out.
Triune.
Too Clever By Half.
Grand Style.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
