We start the 2010 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

What an absolutely crazy day to make a profit. We fired our first [and hopefully only] oh-fer of the meet over on the selections page and really didn't have much of anything to crow about over there. But in something of a puzzler -- the weather and scratches actually helped us make some money over here!

Scale scratched.

RACE TWO... $2 exacta box... Scale/Rotten to the Core-Smooth Transition/Jim's Applemartini.
Collected $24.80 on the ex box [$24.80/$2].

Scale scratched.

RACE TEN... $3 WP on Street Chimes.
...$1 exacta box... Street Chimes/Tapit Dancer/Tiz My Time/Fancy Point.
...$1 exacta box... Street Chimes/Tapit Dancer/Tiz My Time.
No bets. Race was moved off the turf - although Street Chimes won [$8.30, 5.40, 3.40].

Profit for the day... $20.80

With the rain and the off-turf status we'll keep the plays light. Very light.
