Yesterday

2-9. Winners in the 4th [$8.70] and 5th [$3.80]. In the 3rd a C-A exacta [$39.00/$2]. A cold exacta in the 4th [$34.20]. Otherwise it was kind of a dud of an afternoon.

18,205 attend and it was another fine day weather-wise, sunny and warm.

Today

Four lucky patrons will be chosen to participate in a P6 ticket put together by NYRA handicapper Andy Serling. Also, a memorial tribute to the "singing waiter" - John Salerno , a long-time racetrack fixture well-known to many fans for his impromptu performances with favorite track entertainers Reggie’s Red Hot Feetwarmers. Salerno will be remembered in the winner's circle after the 3rd. And cadets will sing the national anthem as the day's feature is the West Point.

FIRST RACE
Bella Attrice...After three off-the-board - but OK - performances, it looks like they're looking for a winning level.
Opera Heroine...Speed was very good on the turf on Wednesday and this one has shown the ability to go to the lead in the past.
Go Go Pink...Another with some early foot.
Witchy Meeting.

SECOND RACE
It's Truly Ahvee...With go with the offspring of Yes It's True - a sire of precocious runners.
Justin Phillip...Took some action before dumping his rider and being scratched earlier in the meet. Win-early trainer/owner combo.
Emcee...More win-early breeding and a couple of nice recent work in the holster.
Banned.

THIRD RACE
Floating Heart...Been running on synthetics and turf for most of the past year but has had success on dirt previously. Should go well if able to run similar Beyers on the traditional main track surface.
McVictory...Uncouple barnmate of top pick. Hasn't missed a tri this year.
Miss Match...Comes out of a steady string of stakes races.
Million Seller.

FOURTH RACE
D'bigcat...Seems like every year there's one like this that looks like a lock going for three at the meet -- only to falter. However - we just couldn't find a live alternative, so we'll hope for the best.
Dance Floor Maniac...Has a nice little kick and fits at this level.
Fuzzy's Story...Been going well at F'Lakes and he's probably a legit fit with this bunch.
Always On the Move.

FIFTH RACE
Eighth Avenue...Could come out running with Broken Vow on top.
Wicky Jones...Won't be surprised to see improvement today.
It's My Party...Showed a little bit of life in debut and can contend with repeat or improvement.
Ry Bread.

SIXTH RACE
In Just We Trust...Claimed out of a nice win here on 7/23 - and should be a fit in this starter alw condition.
Star of New York...Took the lead and caught at 7-5 last time in a similar race.
WW Lady's Man...Comes out of a convincing maiden win so this is deeper water - but won't be surprised to see him go well again.
Capt Obvious.

SEVENTH RACE
Pin...We like Mutakddim as a win-early sire - BUT the trainer typically doesn't have them ready in the debut. Hmm. We'll roll the dice in a field with no real standout.
Deciphering Dreams...Not a shock when this trainer's runners go well in their second try.
Dual Citizen...Sire can get some early winners.
Medieval Sword.

EIGHTH RACE - West Point $100K
Banrock...7YO is one hard-knocking NY-bred. Won this race last year and just missed vs open company last time.
Straight Story...Did well against open-company 3YOs last year and has been good in 2010 as well. Early speed could be a plus on this track.
Minnie Punt...Not too far behind top pick last time and won a NY-bred stake two back.
Icabad Crane.

NINTH RACE
I've Got Speed...Lightly-raced this year but working well. Has won five of last seven and a cozy fit at this level.
Manhattan Fox...Has yet to find the winner's circle in this country but looks good with this bunch.
Bonavento...As noted earlier - speed was dangerous on the grass on Wednesday so this guy could prove formidable if he takes to the surface.
Delano.

TENTH RACE
Such Time as This...Seems turf-meant and drops in for a tag for first time since debut win.
Pretty Cozzy...Could prove tough if able to repeat speedy performance shown last time at this level.
Jazzy Moves...Should stalk and pounce.
Cover Story.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
