2-10. Winners in the 2nd [$7.60] and 5th [$5.10]. Otherwise the picks provided slim pickins' on Sunday.
18,713 attended and enjoyed the best weather of this young meet. It was mostly overcast throughout the day -- and there was a sprinkle or two, but mostly it was dry and the temps were comfortable.
Unless otherwise noted we'll simply stick with our turf picks today - if races get switched to the main track.
FIRST RACE
Devilish Due...A repeat of the two May starts at Churchill would probably be good enough to take this. Also getting some class relief in here.
Regal Soul...Another that will contend if able to hold form from Churchill. Likely to take plenty of action off of that Beyer jump last time -- but that has a little bit of the look of an aberration. We'll see.
Moon Nistle...And yet one more Ky shipper that looks to be in good form.
Always on the Move.
SECOND RACE
Zippy Larry...Has some back class compared to the others in here - and might be able to capitalize with the drop.
Primed to be Ready...Tossed a couple of clunkers this winter - but otherwise is typically in the hunt.
Lorraine in Spain...Could have found her spot with this bunch.
Taza.
THIRD RACE - Shipman $70K
Icabad Crane...NY-bred has shown flashed on occasion. A little bit unpredictable but he can take this with his best.
Giant Moon...Open graded stakes winner. Should talk early and be the first to pounce.
Mighty Morris...Likely the one to catch.
Naughty New Yorker.
FOURTH RACE
Sweat Shop...Nice try in a similar race in the return. Winner that day came back to win at the NW2L level.
Avenging...Could prove interesting with the drop.
Bird Empire...Another moving into this from the MSW ranks.
Mystic Fever.
FIFTH RACE
Firey Red...Euro-import was OK in US debut last year. Off since and might be ready to move forward today.
Diamond Dina...Looks like she could be the lone speed and turning for home we might regret not having her on top.
Queen of the Creek...Last looks likes a toss. A rebound to prior form puts her in the thick of this.
Consequence.
On dirt: Kid Kate, Hot Trip, Talented Princess, Color Me Up.
SIXTH RACE
Bernie's Pal...A turf sprinter from Linda Rice. 'Nuff said.
Electra's Ego...First-time Dutrow.
Nice and Naughty...Seemed to show some improvement on the grass.
Rennina.
SEVENTH RACE
Platinumplus...Slight edge to this gal in a contentious race. Good fit at this level.
Double Dinghy Day...Likely to be rolling late.
Come From Away...The one to catch?
It's Not for Love.
EIGHTH RACE
Checklist...Big race in April at Gulfstream and could be cycling back to that effort.
Hamazing Destiny...A repeat of the latest and he's a winner.
Rollers...Has shown plenty of ability and a liking for this track - but the layoff is a concern.
Endless Circle.
NINTH RACE
Brad's Kitten...Has some win-early breeding and a win-early trainer. Owner likes to spot to win and this one seems aggressively placed at the $25K level.
Lamar Valley...Beyers on the improve in three starts this season.
Evenforever...Should be heard from late.
Arrr Pirates Booty.
Pico Dinero.
