5-11. Winners in the 2nd [$18.00], 3rd [$3.20], 5th [$4.60], 8th [$7.30], and 10th [$2.60]. Also, top four boxed for the super in the 4th [$491.40/$2]. Cold exacta in the 5th [$9.80]. 50,113 was the reported attendance -- with the number being inflated by 'spinners' picking up the last giveaway of the season, the winter cap. But just eyeballing the crowd it seemed like a fairly decent number. And they were treated to yet another fine day weather-wise, with sunshine and comfortable temps.
We turned around an otherwise dud of a week with a nice Sunday -- moving us within seven winners of the 100-mark. Probably too little, too late. But, perhaps we can hit a homerun on Monday. We'll see. If we come up one of two short we'll be kicking ourselves though -- particularly over the omission of Race Twelve from Saturday's selections. But there were certainly one or two others during the meet that we'd like back.
Free admission.
SECOND RACE
Caminadora/Dad's Crazy...Both halves look capable but Caminadora is most interesting trying a two-turn turfer today after two dirt sprints -- and with More Than Ready on top.
Hatheer...Should benefit from the debut.
The West Rim...Ran OK in first start in Ireland. Crosses the Atlantic and picks up Lasix.
It'smyburtday.
THIRD RACE
Uno Peso...Seems to have gotten good through her last few.
Spina...Always competitive -- just can't seem to get up in time.
Credit Limit...Lightly-raced. Might have bounced a little bit last time. Could be dangerous.
City Spirit.
FOURTH RACE
Kissa Melissa...Won a similar event on 8/14.
D'wild ride...Been facing better recently.
Super Slash...Beaten fave behind the top pick last time -- but wouldn't be shocked to see an improved performance today.
Boss Tiffany.
FIFTH RACE
Economic Swoon...We always like these Klaravich/Violette 2YO-in-training buys. Worked in 10.2 before the sale. Sib to stakes-winner Love To Tell.
Pow Wow...By a win-early sire.
Good to Be Seen...Improved nicely in second start. Adds blinkers today.
Sparkle of Light/Pleasant Prince.
SIXTH RACE
Billions Boy...Could be interesting stretching out after two sprints.
Chairman Now...Had some trouble last time but should benefit from the two-turn education.
Eskendereya...Could be live at first asking.
Grand Piano Man.
Power Blast.
SEVENTH RACE
Lateday Edition...Stretches to two turns and might be heard from in the lane.
Justify...Also likely to be running late.
Viva La Gata...This isn't a field of world-beaters and so the 'fresh-face' could be a contender.
Winning Punch.
Patronus Charm.
EIGHTH RACE
Corey's Coming...Might be sharper today coming into this off of another sprint.
Meese Rocks...Solid in seasonal debut. Could contend if able to repeat or improve.
Shot Gun Gal/Pals first Lady...Linda Rice going for the title.
Hold the Cruiser.
NINTH RACE - Glens Falls Hcp G3 $100K
Winter View...Sheppard Special on the last day of the meet?
Caprice...Won nicely in a stake at this trip in latest.
Astrologie...She'll be better if she's not forced to lead.
Mushka.
TENTH RACE - Hopeful G1 $300K
Enumerate...Asmussen trainee just missed in G2 Sanford in only his second start. Might benefit from the education.
Prince Rooney...Another Asmussen runner. Undefeated and a stakes winner already in two starts -- but gets tested today.
Dublin...Solid win in second start coming out of a tough key-race in the career debut. Might be any kind.
Backtalk.
ELEVENTH RACE
Johannesbull...Moves in against state-breds. Nice work in prep for this.
Todo K...Just missed last time in what could be his best effort yet.
Conseated Lady/Ten Carrot Nikki...Linda Rice fires her last two bullets of the meet.
Senegal.
