We started the 2009 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

We were iffy about the card Thurssday -- and that proved to be the right attitude. Although, if we had been a little bolder we could have had the nice Race 1-2 double, as our third pick -- a Sheppard trainee -- won the opener at 10-1. And if we had known that our top pick in the 2nd, Rock Star Royalty[ran second in the 2nd] would go off at a generous 21-1 we would have played around with WPS [xxx, 11.20, 7.20] and exactas [$64.00/$2].

Oh well, turn the page -- and on to what looks like yet another tough card...
