Yesterday

Dark day. No racing.

Today

The official mid-point public handicappers scorecard is still a couple of weeks away -- so we haven't done a comprehensive check, and we apologize if our numbers are off -- but at this point Equidaily's Best Bets appears to be sitting atop the leaderboard, tied with Debbie L of the NY Post with a solid 19 winners-on-top through the first six days. Again, we might have missed someone -- and it's still early. We feel kind of like the guy that finishes in the top twenty in all the golf tournaments but never wins -- at the top of the leaderboard after the first day of the US Open.

FIRST RACE
Madison Avenue...Dropping in for a $20K tag she looks spotted to win.
Touchof Perfection...Broke poorly and missed the board for the first time in latest. Expect a rebound with the move back into a claimer and the stretchout to two turns.
Driven by Seattle...Likely the one to catch.
Gin Tango.

SECOND RACE
Petal Meadow...Tepid nod for this one moving MSW to mdn clm'r.
Apple Grove...Likely the one to beat while also dropping from MSW -- but off since last October and might need one.
First Flute...Just missed at this level in debut.
Ten Carrot Nikki.

THIRD RACE
Distinctively...McGaughey not necessarily known to have them cranked up for first try -- but simply can't ignore that impeccable Phipps breeding.
Film Charm/Seeking Sunshine...Film Charm preferred. Repeat of the two solid starts at Gulfstream makes her dangerous.
Paracaidas...Off almost a year after putting in a very promising debut here. She'll be tough if ready.
Hidden Face.

FOURTH RACE
Vamos a Ver...Breeding, works and connections all make this firster interesting.
Starlighter...Bred to win early.
Calipari...Another with some precocious breeding.
Precipice Trail.

FIFTH RACE
Rosie's Promises...Only needs a replay of the maiden-breaker to get it done again.
Hot and Bothered...Horse for the course? Comes back quickly off of a win here last week.
Submerge...Stakes-placed last year. Should compete with these if she's fit and ready off the layoff.
Judicial Leader.

SIXTH RACE
Too Amenable...Just missed last time and looks to tower over this weak bunch.
Marscaponi...Two decent tries since the trainer switch.
Mr Hooker...AE lister. Looked good in 2009 turf starts.
Peterdidit.
Mr Enrico.
Ask Ommadon.
On dirt: Too Amenable, John Wyatt, Mr Hooker, Mr Enrico, Ask Ommadon.

SEVENTH RACE
Precision Farming...Turf sprint. Linda Rice. 'Nuff said.
Easy Ashley...High early speed.
Wishful Star...Proven turf sprinter with Beyers moving in the right direction.
Lost Without You.
On dirt: Spina, Frozen Prospect, Easy Ashley, Mindbender.

EIGHTH RACE - De La Rose $70K
Cocoa Beach...G1 winner tossed in a clunker in seasonal debut -- but scratched out of Sunday's G1 Go For Wand for this much easier spot.
Scolara...Hard-knocking turf filly from Mott is usually in the hunt.
Teamgeist...Argentinian invader was impressive at home and could be any kind.
Cable.
Grande Annee.
Lindelaan.
On dirt: Cocoa Beach, Skylighter, Savoir Bien, Manitoba Miss, Nicksappealinglylady.

NINTH RACE
Sammarco...Might prove to be the speed of the speed. Clearly the question mark is the turf.
Mesa Sunrise...2009 debut was ultra-impressive and stamps him as the one to beat.
Dr Smarty Jack...Could prove interesting on the cutback.
Fateh Field.
On dirt: Sammarco, All the Baes, Mesa Sunrise, Golden Weekend.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
