Yesterday
2-10. Two winners on top [2nd, $7.30; 9th, $2.70]. Overall it was kind of a disappointing afternoon -- we were kind of all around it all day but just couldn't get over the hump. Did manage a couple boxed tri's with our top three selections [2nd, $103.50; 7th, $32.80], so there was a little bit of value to be found with the picks.
The weather continues to rebound and 18,062 turned out to enjoy the day. The highlight was perhaps the superfecta finish by trainer Linda Rice in the 6th, the Mechanicville. It's no secret that Rice seems to have found the key to success in turf sprints and her runners ran 12-3-4 in the nine-horse field. The superfecta paid a whopping $3490.00/$2 to the Rice faithful!
Off-track, the jockeys had a measure of redemption after their collapse against the AAU-champ team of kids on the basketball court a couple of weeks ago. Monday night the riders took to the diamond and faced NY State troopers in a charity softball game. The troopers rocked the jocks early -- taking a commanding 8-0 lead after one inning. But the jocks fought back, eventually taking the lead back in the 8th. Final score: Jocks 19, Troopers, 15.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halves are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
