2008 Racing Season

Saratoga Race Course Tuesday, August 12, 2008 Total for the meet... $885.05

We start the 2008 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Probably should have designated the nightcap as a play on-or-off the turf -- since our picks stayed intact either way. Would have made a little bit of a profit on the place-bet on 13-1 Debbie H. And we would have been really upset if that one had won and we weren't onboard! Otherwise, pretty much of another washout.

We hit the halfway mark with the vast majority of our bankroll still intact. The meet got off to a good start but a combination of the weather and some near-misses [how about last Wednesday when we ran first and third in six exacta plays?!?] have nibbled away at us. But there's still plenty of time -- and plenty of bankroll. Stay tuned!

RACE SEVEN... $4 WP on The Third Degree.
Ran 9th at 22-1.

Ran 3-6-8-9.

RACE TEN... $4 WP on Debbie H.
Off turf. No wager.
