The Mid-Season Handicappers Scorecard was posted yesterday. See how the public handicappers are doing after eighteen days of racing.

Yesterday

No racing. Dark day.

Today

It's Women's Day. The day will feature numerous exhibitors in the backyard providing products and information on women’s health and lifestyle issues.

There is a $59K P6 carryover.

FIRST RACE
Zaynab...Competitive in minor stakes last year. Now makes third start of 2007 after two near-misses in similar company to today's bunch.
Queen Amira...Her best is good enough and dropping into this spot out of a steady diet of stakes might make the difference.
Jilli's Cape...Lead and caught last time -- but cuts back half a furlong this afternoon.
Astronomia.

SECOND RACE
Dana Dew...$280K for a NY-bred is a nice chunk of change. Should have gotten some education from the debut effort.
Happening...Has the Mike Hernandez 'value train' already left the station after a couple of bombs last week? Don't overlook this one by a sire off to a red-hot start.
Fairy Godmother...Nice closing kick shown in her first start.
Winning Punch.

THIRD RACE
Will He Shine...Dropping out of graded stakes company and returning to the distance he relishes.
Fleet Valid...Last three have been kind of disappointing after a big start to his career -- but clearly he's capable of contending.
Callmetony...Hard to knock his 2007 season.
Council Member.

FOURTH RACE
Inner Light...Worked a quick 10.2 and attracted $650K at a 2YO sale. Good breeding. Nice works. Hot trainer and jock. Adds up.
Paint...Also bred well. Worked 22.4 and 21.2 and brought $400K at same sale as top pick.
Devereux...Has some breeding and win-early connections.
Api Mohkat.

FIFTH RACE
Typhoon Tycoon...Yeesh -- it's tough to put this one on top with a trainer that has only one win in 2007. But this guy just looks best of a weak field. Tepid nod.
A Rose Like Us...Hasn't hit the board yet in five races -- again, might be good enough in a very weak field.
Bachelornumberone...Probably prefers the turf and seemed to like it here last year.
Stormy Success.

SIXTH RACE
Electric Light...Pretty talented turfer drops in for the tag to sneak in under the condition. The three that finished in front of him here last time are all legit stakes-quality runners.
Yate's Black Cat...Looks even better as a 4YO than he was at 3 -- and that was pretty good.
Salinja...Been knocking on the door since arriving in this country and would be no surprise here.
Real Quality.

SEVENTH RACE
Harlanquin...We liked this one last time and have been waiting for the return. Unfortunately this is a salty bunch today -- but this guy looked live turning for home on 7/26 and ran into some traffic. Might offer some real value in third start of the season and a more cagey ride. The return of Leparoux -- who rode him well here last year -- adds to the intrigue.
Copy That...$550K purchase dropped to this level last time and ran OK -- but the claiming game isn't really where Pletcher's horses do their best stuff.
Cliff Meadows...Makes that potent drop for MSW. Dangerous.
Absolute Return.

EIGHTH RACE - Adirondack G2
Sky Mom......Fired a huge number in her only try on dirt.
More Happy...Baffert trainee looked good in debut. Fired an impressive bullet in prep for this.
Passion...Pletcher filly was impressive winning first-out over the Arlington Poly.
Phantom Income.

NINTH RACE
Willi's Sweet Girl...Why get cute? This one won a similar race here on 7/29 and there's no reason to believe she can't repeat.
Madam Manguy...Just behind the top pick last time.
Ohbeegeewhyen...And just behind the top two in that race.
Josefina's Pride.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
