Yesterday

5-10. A pretty good day with winners-on-top -- albeit at mostly short prices -- and we managed to grab some of the gimmicks early. Cold exactas in three of the first four races [1st, $19.00/$2; 2nd, $20.60; 4th, $7.10]. Also had the early double cold [$17.40]. Plus some assorted others playing around with the selections.

Who likes chair? We like chairs! Announced attendance was a record-breaking 72,745 on folding chair giveaway day. Obviously the figure was 'spinner'-inflated but there was a very good crowd on-hand regardless. Most sitting in their new chairs... Weather was picture-perfect yet again. Sunny with temps in the '80's.

Today

FIRST RACE
Sami's Dancer...Seems perhaps a little better than these.
Southernconference...Could be the one to catch from the rail.
Need the Write Off.Pretty good try at right about this level last time. Fits.
Banque Royale.
Execeleration.
Cash Rich.

SECOND RACE
Fauzeta...Bred to win-early. Should like the grass. Fired a bullet way back in May at Churchill and had been steady in the morning since.
Prairie Melody...Wouldn't be surprised to see marked improvement today.
Saratoga Summer...Another with some precocious breeding. Hot trainer and jock.
Press Leak.
Kimmel entry.
Ready to Dream.
On dirt: DJ Lightning, Tale of a Lady, Fauzeta, Remarkable Remy, Saratoga Summer.

THIRD RACE
Noonmark...Thought this guy was live on the Derby Trail last year. Never quite lived up to that potential and ended the season with a couple of flops. Return however was promising.
City Attraction...He returns! Perhaps one of our most disappointing wins ever at Saratoga. That's right, a disappointing Win... Check those PPs back to the career debut here in 2005. We sued him on top that day at 63-1. He finished a dismal tenth. We boldly put him on top less than two weeks later and he won for fun -- at an astounding 10-1 -- after getting crushed at 63-1! Oy! He's gone well in his last three and should appreciate the cutback today.
Leonardo...Showed some promise as a 2YO. Faces older for the first time today.
Santa's Gold.

FOURTH RACE
Sister Desiree...Drops in for a tag today and might appreciate this level of company.
Cori's Star...Plenty of early speed.
Dr D's Archangel...In for a tag. Beyers are on the improve.
Rice entry.
On dirt: Cabbage Patch Gal, Sister Desiree, Ashima, Go Native.

FIFTH RACE
Kevazinga...Interesting since this is his first try against state-breds. Comes in off of a string of bullets at Churchill.
Vilify...Improving with each start.
One in a Romp...Will be rolling late.
Golden Manna.

SIXTH RACE
True Cause...Euro-invader should be able to build off of US debut effort.
Niagara Causeway...Very dangerous stakes-quality runner from Biancone.
Prince Rahy...Finally stringing a few together for the first time in awhile.
Dancing Forever.
On dirt: Dancing Forever, Thorn Song, Fund Broker, True Cause.

SEVENTH RACE
Joppa Flat's...Showed speed and just got caught going longer last time.
Bb Livermore...Interesting,. Beyer figs on the improve. Moves turf-to-dirt. Some things to like.
Secret Design...Cuts back from a good try at 1M.
El Medwar.

EIGHTH RACE
Pay Attention...10-time winner comes right back after winning a similar race here on 7/26.
Drizzly...Should be heard from in the lane.
Log Jam...Can't be too confident since they shipped him to F'Lakes for last two -- but he's run well enough in the past to compete here.
Indian Hawke.

NINTH RACE - Troy
Silver Timber...Trainer won a turf sprint here yesterday -- something she's excelled at in the past. Might signal good things for the remainder of the meet. This one is a legit turf sprinter and is undefeated on the course.
Mr Silver...Another bonafide turf sprinter -- which is something of a specialty.
bin Suroor entry...Both halves look capable of contending in here.
TD Vance.

TENTH RACE
Delta Park...Showed speed and faded late in 2007 debut. Two in front have come back to win. Tough with even the slightest improvement off of that.
Any Minute Now...Fits at this level and picks up meet-leading jock.
Gold Pageantry...Has some closing punch.
Loushe.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
