The highlights were the boxed tri in the Sleepy Hollow at Belmont [$281.50/$2]. Our top pick, favored Big Turck, was upset, running third, but the value on the play came from our second selection, 30-1 Coastal Drive filling the underneath slot in the exacta. The day's other high point was top selection 15-1 Jibboom winning at Keeneland -- a horse we also included in this week's Best Bets.

Note: Did anybody notice that Saturday I labeled the day as "the clam before the storm", saying there weren't many graded stakes with the BC only a week away. Of course that should have been "the calm before the storm." Yeesh. Since clam is a word, spell-check won't flag it. It might have been clammy someplace -- but overall, more calm...

As post times played out we were shooting an oh-fer -- and kind of a dismal oh-fer at that -- with only one race remaining for our Best Bets. That last race was the Raven Run at Keeneland and our play, Jibboom, was going off at a generous 15-1. Nothing like a $33 mutuel to turn a bad day around!
