Scratched.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-3-4.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-3-4.
Miraculous Miss...Love the set-up: Third start of the season, stretching out off of two improving sprint efforts.
Teammate... Jerkens filly ran huge first-time Lasix in last. Cuts back in distance and a repeat makes her dangerous.
Win McCool...Showed promise last year. Toss season debut due to early trouble.
Daytime Promise.
Sweet Talker 4-5*
Smart N Classy 10-1
Humoristic 10-1
Wager: $5 WP on Sweet Talker.
Coleected $16.50 on the WP (3.60, 3.00).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-4.
...$1 exacta box top four, sub next if scratch.
Ran 1-3-4-9.
Sweet Talker... G1 winner moves into the Graham Motion barn and looks to have found a cozy spot for 2006 debut.
Art Fan... She's typically in the mix -- and has a good record over the track.
Humoristic... Like top two she's coming back from a layoff -- but also like them, she seems have an edge on most of these.
Dynamic Deputy.
Smart N Classy.
Admiral's Arch 5-2*
Sweetening 37-1
Mr Pursuit 5-1
Wager: $5 WP on Admiral's Arch.
Collected $2.700 on the WP (7.00, 3.80).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 1-8.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-8.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-3-5-8.
Admiral's Arch... Came back this season with nice improved form and added 3YO maturity. Looks to be on a nice improving trend and adds blinkers which is a solid angle with Asmussen.
Kings Challenge... His two Oaklawn tries were pretty solid so slight dud at Turfway might simply indicate he didn't like the 21st-century surface. Look for rebound.
High Adventure... Also has taken to this track and might be ripe for a good one while stretching out from sprints.
Mr Pursuit.
Gasia 4-1
Morner 5-1
Incumbent 7-1
Wager: $5 WP on Morner.
Collected $12.50 on the WP (xxx, 5.00).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-3-4-6.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-3-4-6.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-3-4-6.
Morner... Took a lead and then was caught late in the Honeybee. That was her first try around two turns and the winner that day, Ermine, might be a good one. This gal might last longer today with that experience under her belt.
Coronado's Vision... Just missed in stakes debut. Lightly raced -- still plenty of upside.
Beau Dare... Flopped at Churchill to end 2005 but had a promising 2YO season prior to that one. Likely to come back to that good form -- question mark is, will it be today or might she need one?
Incumbent.
Lawyer Ron 1-2*
Steppenwolfer 7-1
Private Vow 5-1
Wager: $5 WP on Lawyer Ron.
Collected $14.00 on the WP (3.00, 2.60).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Collected $13.80 on the ex box.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $6.90 on the ex box.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 1-2-4-10.
Lawyer Ron... Toss the turf and the Polytrack starts and he's on an even more impressive win-streak. Hard to go past off of the facile wins in both Oaklawn preps for this.
Steppenwolfer... Nipped for the place-spot in last. Think he's better than that.
Simon Pure... Expect this Lukas trainee to be sent early and play catch me if you can.
Red Raymond.
Wend 6-5*
Asi Siempre 7-2
Mirabilis 5-1
Amorama completed the $189.60/$2 super.
Wager: $5 WP on Wend.
Collected $19.00 on the WP (4.60, 3.00).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Collected $16.80 on the ex box ($16.80/$2).
...$1 exacta box top four.
Collected $8.40 on the ex box.
...$1 tri box top four.
Collected $28.00 on the tri box ($56.00/$2).
Wend... Mott trainee ran her best yet winning season debut in G3 at Gulfstream. Undeafeated at the trip.
Asi Siempre... Invaded from Europe and put together three solid US starts last year. 2-2 over this track and will be formidable if ready off the layoff.
Amorama... G1 winner from Stronach/Frankel would be no surprise.
Mirabilis.
Sun King 7-1
Kazoo 8-1
Spanish Chestnut 4-1
Wager: $5 WP on Kazoo.
Collected $28.50 on the WP (xxx, 11.40).
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 2-9.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 2-6-9-10.
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 2-6-9-10.
Kazoo... Had this one on top last week in the G1 Carter off of the bang-up effort in the G3 Toboggan. He scratched, but the horse that ran behind him in the Toboggan went on to win. Might be sitting on a good effort.
Mister Fotis...Has fired a couple of big shots recently at this distance.
Vicarage...One of his best races was a 7F stake over this track last fall.
Wild Tale.
Sinister Minister 8-1
Storm Treasure 65-1
Strong Contender 5-2
Wager: $5 WP on Bluegrass Cat.
Ran 4th at 9-5*.
...$2 exacta box top two.
Ran 4-5.
...$1 exacta box top four.
Ran 3-4-5-9
...$1 tri box top four.
Ran 3-4-5-9.
Bluegrass Cat... Race fans have a tendency to have a little too much of a what have you done for me lately attitude. So this guy will take a little bit of a hit off of the second-place in the G3 Tampa Bay Derby. But we think that race was better than it looked and we're not jumping ship.
First Samurai... Third start of 2006 should have him primed. Like the top pick, his up-close style will play well on this track.
Court Folly..Very interesting. Should add some value to the plays. Sharp Humor and Noonmark could be the real deals -- and this guy was a decent third behind them in his stakes debut. Third start off the layoff -- stretching from two sprints... We like the angles.
Strong Contender.
