Yesterday

No racing. Dark day.

Today

At 2:30pm in the Jockey Silks Area [out behind the jocks' room] there will be an ice cream eating contest sponsored by Stewart's.

FIRST RACE
Galluscio entry...Successful Affair preferred. Looks to be on the improve and ran a good one over the track just five days ago. Could be tough if entered back on short notice. Boundary Bay has some early speed.
Raceland...Could be dangerous. Has run a few that would be good enough to take this -- but is a little bit inconsistent and unproven going two turns.
Hunter's Tale...Last might have signaled a little bit of a wake-up call but jock switch is a concern.
Tommasi/Raffit.

SECOND RACE
Chief's Lake...Showed some brief speed in debut. Might last longer with the drop in for a tag and adding blinkers.
Smash 'Em Sammy...A couple of the works are attractive.
Galluscio entry...Don't Mind Me has some good works. Marty the Clocker sired by one who can't get early winners.
Zip to the City.

THIRD RACE
Around the Cape...Graded stakes winner on turf -- it's interesting to see the switch to dirt. Not quite sure what to make of it -- but we'll hope he can show his zip on the main track.
Safsoof...Put in two good dirt tries before a little setback in a turf stakes last time.
Voodoo...Expect this guy to take some money off of back class. Has shown an affinity for this track and wouldn't be shocked to see him win here -- but he's tossed in a couple of duds this year and trainer isn't setting the meet on fire.
Taint So.

FOURTH RACE
Golden Lips...Has some win-early breeding and a nice string of works.
Dinner Break...Also bred to be ready to go.
Like Royalty...Trainer's having a good meet.
Half Time Crown.

FIFTH RACE
Silverado Trail...In a tough race with a lot of stories this one gets a slight nod. Showed some promise -- two years ago. Comeback effort was good. Let's forgive the dud last time due to the trouble. Drops in for a tag and might just be better than these.
Low Creek...Caught late in a similar race here last time. Might be tougher to catch in the lane today with that experience under his belt.
Salty and Saintly...Expect this one to take a lot of action -- but the red flags are really waving. First three look pretty good -- good enough that you have to wonder about the drop to the $30K level.
Edge Road.
Fortunate Storm.

SIXTH RACE
Jetastik...AE lister. Rolling the dice a little bit here. Has shown some speed in the past. Let's forgive the last which was on the dirt. Might speed pop them in third start of 2006.
Super Diva...Putting in some improving numbers over last three grass starts.
Small Potatoes...Also is showing some signs of improvement and gets a positive jock switch.
Zip Stream.
I'm a Mess.
Hillary's Charisma.
Factual Number.

SEVENTH RACE
Mach Three...Looks ready to pop and drop into a claimer should only help his chances.
Open Debate...Two turf tries were arguably his best. Another that should benefit from move out of MSW ranks.
Special Interest...Will be tough if able to duplicate last but it's hard to get too excited about a longtime maiden.
Ernie Bogen.

EIGHTH RACE - Albany $150K
Run Red Run...Gives up plenty in the experience department but is improving and hasn't done anything wrong yet.
Ferocious Won...Trying for the Big Apple Triple. Clearly the one to beat.
Shuffling Maddnes...Hasn't missed the board since February.
Always Albert.

NINTH RACE
Cristina's Diamond...We'll hope the traffic troubles explain the dud last time. Prior efforts down south looked good enough to compete with this bunch.
Kafleen...Another that tossed in a dud last time after having some trouble. Again, the prior efforts fit here and the work on 8/17 stands out.
Sorority Wildcat...Overmatched so far this season. Might appreciate drop in class.
Bunnabunnabunna.

If we are interested in both halves of an entry -- in event of a scratch -- it is noted that way [in other words, both halve are named]. If only one-half of the entry is named, then we prefer that half and will move to our next pick listed [rather than the other half of the entry] in event of a scratch.
