2006 Racing Season

We start the 2006 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

The excitement returns and as noted over on the Picks page, we come into the 2006 season with confidence running high.

We managed a profit in 2004 (Final 2004 tally here). And we put on a mad dash in 2005 -- going from $478 to $985 over the final five days of the meet (Final 2005 tally here). And, in fact, early on the final day of the meet we actually moved into positive territory -- but we couldn't hold that over the last few races. But it was a great run, and winding up only $15 short after 36 days is something of a moral victory, at the very least.

The goal, of course, for this season is to return the bankroll to a season-end profit. It all starts here, so stay tuned...
