We started the 2005 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Again, like in 2004, we are making a sustained charge through Week six. The last two days should be interesting.

Saturday was a good day -- but it could have been a super day if only Forest Danger had been able to get it done in the feature. We managed to grab a nice early double. Two solid winners. And a good exacta. All of that put us ahead for the day -- but we could have moved into the black for the meet if only Forest Danger had won. If that scenario played out we would have picked up a P6 conso, a P4 and a P3. None of those would have sent us into retirement in Tahiti -- but it should have added a few hundred bucks to the kitty and thus moved us into positive territory.

But we have two days to get the job done and the way we're rolling through the last few days we enter the last furlong with confidence.
