We started the 2005 Saratoga thoroughbred race meet with a mythical bankroll of $1000. Each day we'll use this space to record our mythical best bets and calculate the accumulated wins and losses.

Yesterday...

Bingo! After treading water through Weeks Four and Five we really needed to make something happen on Monday. A loss would have left us with a small enough bankroll that we could have turned it around -- but we would have needed to tread lightly, making the comeback that much more difficult. Instead we made enough of a score to jolt the bankroll back into a position that will make the last week of the meet very interesting.

Just as a reminder -- last year on the final Thursday of the meet the bankroll stood at $492... By Sunday it was $782, and going into the last day of the 2004 meet we'd banked $1255. We aimed for the fences on that final day -- and came up short, but we still made a profit for the meet. But the point is, the money we have at this point is 2005 is pretty close to what we had in 2004 and Week Six last week proved to be very exciting (on the last Saturday of 2004 we missed a P6 by a half-length). So stay tuned!

Collected $163.50 on the P4 ($327.00/$2).
Ran R6/Won [$11.40] -8... R7/Won [$4.20] -2... R8/Won [$3.80]... R9/Won [$13.60] -5-8-10.

RACE 9-10... $5 DD... R8/Alinghi... R9/R9/Gemmie A Satellite/Continental Reins.
Collected $60.50 on the DD ($24.20/$2).

Profit for the day... $182.00
